Parish Council Updates

On June 1st, Fr. Prince celebrated Holy Mass in the absence of Fr. Daris. It was a very blessed Mass for all parishioners.  On June 8th, the dedicated Mathruvedi team organized a delightful one-day picnic for all parishioners to celebrate Father's Day. It was a wonderful and enjoyable event, where we had a memorable gathering with Fr. Daris, filled with abundant fun and delectable food. Despite the chilly weather, 75% of the parishioners attended. This cherished picnic was our last gettogether with our beloved Fr. Daris, and we all are immensely grateful to the Mathruvedi team for arranging such a splendid outing. On June 9th, on behalf of all parishioners, the parish council members conducted a heartfelt farewell party for Fr. Daris. Fr. Prince, Fr. Vaslyn, and Mr. Agnel were present at this special gathering - In the beginning, our esteemed trustee, Mr. Shammy, warmly welcomed all the distinguished guests on the dais and extended a heartfelt welcome to all the parishioners - There were heartfelt thanksgiving speeches from all the departments, including Catechism,Mathruvedi, Altar boys, Choir team, Jesus Youth, Nurses Ministry, Prayer group, Knight ofColumbus and Youth team. The heads of each department expressed their sincere gratitude and wishes, and it was truly touching to all the parishioners - There were heartfelt farewell speeches from Fr. Prince and Fr. Vasyl. - On this occasion, all the parishioners were in a sad mood, but to make the event special for Fr. Daris, our council members arranged a cake cutting by Fr. Daris and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the parishioners, and his words deeply touched the hearts of everyone present. Finally, the meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from Trustee Mr. James

On June 13th, we warmly welcomed Fr. Jerlin to our parish with great enthusiasm and heartfelt hospitality. On June 16th, our trustee Mr. Shammy officially welcomed Fr. Jerlin to our parish on behalf of all parishioners. The Holy Mass was celebrated by Fr. Jerlin together with Fr. Daris, and it was a profoundly blessed experience for everyone, in addition, Fr. Jerlin and Fr. Daris extended their heartfelt Father’s Day wishes to all the fathers of the parish.On June 18th, our beloved Fr. Daris finally bid farewell to all the parishioners. Most of the parish council members were present at the airport, along with our beloved Fr. Jerlin, to see him off.


Catechism Department Updates

 

Catechism Final Exam;

The catechism classes went well in our Parish. On May 26th we were able to conduct the second term exam smoothly. The exam results were given on the following week.

Catechism Annual day celebration;

Catechism Annual day will be celebrated on July 13th 2024. Students and teachers are preparing for the big celebration.

Farewell to Rev.Fr.Daris Cherian;

Our parish had arranged a farewell function for Rev.Fr.Daris Cherian who has completed his tenure and transferring to another parish. Our catechism department prepared a handmade card for Fr.Daris, with the farewell wishes of teachers and students.  Thank you Fr.Daris for everything you’ve done for us and our community.

Nurses Ministry Updates

         In the month of June, the prayer tool intention of Regina is to do rosary. Canada Nurses Ministry conducted “SAMPOORNA VACHANA PARAYANAM” from June 3rd at noon to June 8th 3pm. Inaugurations and blessings done by our associate director Father Joyal Joseph. Everyday one hour the regina Nurses Ministry took slot to read the Bible

        On June 13 Nurses Ministry held a chain rosary from 6am to 6pm. Most of the members participated.

       On June 14 at noon Josemon Brother reached regina. After Holy Mass, Brother held a 2-hour meeting with service team, it was a very useful session for the nurses.

        One June 15 at 2pm Regina Nurses Ministry held a formation class with Josemon Brother. From 4:30 to 5:30 pm he held a meeting with the service team, this class was very useful for all the nurses. At 5:30pm our spiritual Father Fr. Daris held a thanksgiving Holy Mass for all the nurses. After that we held a potluck party for the farewell of Fr. Daris Cherian as he transfers to Halifax from Regina. On behalf of Nurses Ministry, we gave a gift card, this was a blessed moment.

Mathruvedi Updates

Picnic day and Father’s Day celebration A picnic was organized on June 08, 2024 (4pm to 8pm) at Rick Hansen Optimist Playground, Regina to mark Father’s Day celebrations and provide a memorable farewell to our parish priest cum spiritual father Rev. Father Daris Cherian. It was a cool and windy evening. The location by the waterside added more excitement. The picnic was attended by over 100 parishioners. Rev. Father Daris Cherian blessed the gathering and gave his message. Mathruvedhi served yummy hot dogs, veggie salad and soft drinks. Pithruvedhi members actively supported the event by their selfless dedication and love. The 4-hour picnic had great zeal of fun, and all carried loads of happy memories at the end of the day. Mathruvedhi Leaders Online Meeting On June 15, 2024, Mathruvedhi president represented the Parish at the online meeting session on ‘Mathruvedhi Leaders’, conducted by the Family Apostolate, Eparchy of Misssissauga. The session discussed the organization of Mathruvedhi at the Diocese level, with coordination at the parish level for aiming a uniform growth. An executive committee was formed by nomination during the session. Father’s Day Prayer and blessings On June 16, 2024, Rev. Father Daris Cherian remembered all the fathers of our parish, recited prayers and blessed all the fathers of our parish

We are just lighted up with the torch of enthusiasm that you graciously transferred to us. Expressing gratitude deep from our hearts towards your willingness to support us through the transition and making time to help us in each activity during this period. And, your words to support us with valuable advice and guidance anytime we would require it, is truly encouraging. May God bless you all and your families abundantly.

Beloved Acha, your presence will be deeply missed in our Parish but every action of yours to raise the church physically, financially and above all, spiritually, in kindness, and Christ's love, will be forever cherished. Your visionary leadership has imprinted footprints in our hearts that will go miles.  We pray that God bestows his grace and love upon our new team to work shoulder to shoulder like you all, towards the growth of our Parish, under the graceful leadership of New Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Jerlin Francis.
