Knights of Columbus Scholarship Award – June 29, 2025

During the Sunday Mass on June 29th, the parish community proudly celebrated the academic excellence and commitment of Amanda Agnel, who was awarded the Grade 12 Scholarship worth $450 by the Knights of Columbus. The recognition was a moment of joy and inspiration, especially for our young parishioners, encouraging them to pursue their goals with faith and dedication. Amanda’s achievement was met with heartfelt applause, as the parish thanked God for blessing our community with such promising youth. The scholarship reflects the Knights’ ongoing support of education and faith-filled leadership among the next generation.

Farewell Mass for Beena Teacher – June 27, 2025

On June 27th, the parish gathered to bid a heartfelt farewell to Beena Teacher, who served as the Grade 4 Catechism teacher with dedication and warmth. The special Mass was marked by prayers of gratitude and emotional tributes as Beena Teacher prepared to move to Saskatoon in pursuit of new opportunities. Her departure is felt deeply by students, parents, and fellow teachers alike, as she leaves behind a legacy of love, patience, and unwavering commitment to faith formation. We pray that God continues to bless her journey ahead and fills her new path with joy and purpose.

The Feast of Dukhrana, commemorating St. Thomas the Apostle, was prayerfully celebrated in our parish. On July 3rd, Holy Qurbana was held at 5:30 pm, followed by a special cake-cutting in honor of our beloved patron saint—the father of faith for the Syro-Malabar Church. The faithful came together, seeking the intercession of St. Thomas to deepen our trust in Christ and live boldly in faith. As July 3rd is a day of obligation, parishioners participated with devotion and reverence.

On Sunday, July 6th, the celebration continued with the Rosary at 4:30 pm, followed by Holy Qurbana, a solemn procession, and Nercha organized by Mathruvedhi. The vibrant expressions of devotion reflected the rich spiritual heritage passed on by St. Thomas and renewed the community's commitment to living a life rooted in faith and unity.

Moose Jaw Holy Mass – July 5, 2025

The Moose Jaw community gathered in faith and unity for a blessed celebration of the Holy Qurbana on July 5, 2025. The solemn Holy Mass, drawing families, children, and youth together in worship and reverence. Following the liturgy, the faithful shared in warm fellowship, strengthening the bonds of our growing community. With prayerful hearts and joyful spirits, the event was a testament to the living faith of the Moose Jaw congregation and their commitment to spiritual growth and togetherness in Christ.

Faith Fest – July 12, 2025

Our annual Faith Fest brought together children and youth for a dynamic day of spiritual enrichment, fun, and fellowship. Beginning with Holy Qurbana at 10:00 am, the day unfolded with engaging sessions, activities, and community bonding. Divided by age into color-coded groups—RED for St. Gabriel (JK–Grade 3), GREEN for St. Raphael (Grades 4–6), and St. Michael (Grades 7–12)—participants enjoyed faith-filled teachings tailored to their stage in life. With inspiring talks, vibrant energy, and Christ-centered fellowship, Faith Fest was a joyful reminder of the importance of nurturing faith from a young age.

Ignite – SMYM Adoration Night – July 11, 2025

 

On Friday, July 11th, SMYM Regina hosted the second Ignite Adoration at St. John Paul II Syro Malabar Catholic Church. Following Holy Mass, the youth and faithful entered into a powerful evening of Eucharistic Adoration. The gathering included moments of intercession, the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and a spiritually enriching talk by an SMYM member. The blessing imparted by Fr. Jerlin filled hearts with peace and a renewed zeal for God. Ignite served as a powerful encounter with the Lord, drawing young people closer to Christ through prayer, music, and reflection.

Grace Gala – Catechism Annual Day – July 20, 2025

On July 20th, our parish joyfully celebrated Grace Gala, the Catechism Annual Day, honouring the faith journey of our students and teachers. The evening began with Holy Mass at 4:00 pm, followed by a vibrant cultural program at 5:30 pm that showcased the talents of every grade—from joyful performances by our youngest students to heartfelt presentations by our senior classes. Teachers also took the stage, delighting the audience with their participation. The celebration concluded with a delicious dinner lovingly prepared by parish volunteers in the church kitchen. Grace Gala was a beautiful reflection of community, learning, and shared joy in Christ.
