ASH MONDAY CELEBRATIONS

Ash Monday (Vibhoothitirunnal) was Celebrated on Sunday evening together with the Solemn Holy Mass. As Monday was a common holy day we decided to celebrate it on Sunday itself. Church was full of the faithful to celebrate it on Sunday evening. Fr. Daris Cherian blessed the ashes and signed with the cross all the participants and officially started the Lenten celebrations.


NURSES MINISTRY UPDATES.

On 13 th February Nurses Ministry members conducted a chain Rosary on February 13 th , begging for the intercession of the Holy mother. Core committee meeting was held on January 31 st via Zoom. 21 members were participated including Fr.Pathrose and Sr. Josy. The meeting was starred at 8 pm and several discussions were happened including International Nurses Ministry meeting, great call, Google registration form, night vigil etc. Mrs. Sheeba showed her interest to attend the international team meeting, which is going to held on Dubai. Also, in this meeting decision has been made on Night vigil, it will conduct on every 4 month’s. Core members should discuss about their region regarding the coming election for secretary, treasurer, and continental members. Also must provide the names of the people those who are interested in this election to either Elsy or regional coordinators before the next core members meeting. Then the meeting was ended with prayers.

NEWS FROM ST. JOHN PAUL II KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS COUNCIL

Activities of Dec 2022 and Jan 2023

Our WPGK Agnel George delivered a wonderful message on Holy Eucharist, Confession and Reconciliation for our Catechism children.

Successfully completed Kettle Bell Program - A fund raising program for Salvation Army.

Alex, Francis, Joy George, and Agnel George helped in making this program a success.

We conducted a basketball/throw ball event with our parishioners. Winners in each category were awarded $25 gift card.

We conducted Keep Christ in Christmas Contest. With $25, $15, $15 worth gift cards handed to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize winners respectively. Each other participating child was handed a $10 gift card.

We conducted the Forth Degree Exemplification on 22-Jan-2023. 14 members from our council were exemplified as "Sir Knights".

The exemplification was followed by a light lunch for all the members.



ST.MARY’S SYRO-MALABAR MISSION MOOSEJAW.

ASH MONDAY CELEBRATIONS AT MOOSJAW MISSION

Ash Monday was celebrated at St. Mary's Syro-Malabar Mission Moose Jaw on Monday evening. Confession was arranged from 6 PM and followed by Solemn Holy Mass ash Monday celebrations were done. Though it was family day and common holy day a good number of people joined for ash Monday celebrations. The community decided to have their next Holy Mass in March during annual retreat.
