Catechism Department Updates

 

We conducted the first term assessment for the catechism students on January 14th in our parish, following the directions of the Eparchial Catechesis team. Our Vicar Rev.Fr.Daris and other parish council members were also there to support the department to conduct the exam smoothly. We really like to appreciate the cooperation and support of our students’, teachers and parents who helped us to administer the exam as planned. Teachers did the evaluation of the answer sheets, and the results were given on the following Sunday.


Nurses Ministry Updates

 

On January 1st nurse's ministry held a zoom prayer meeting. Sister Maria Josi gave the word of God. On January 8th we held a general discussion after the 8:30 prayer, to discuss about the “great call.” In that meeting we decided the dates of all the regions. Regina got the 15th of June. It is mainly for the formation.

 

 On January 10 Canada nurse’s ministry plan to make a spiritual bouquet to our spiritual director Fr. Daris as it is his feast, we planned to do 500 Hail Mary’s and prayers for the priest. All regions should offer the spiritual bouquet for his feast day on January 20th. Regina planned to celebrate Fr. Daris feast and ordination day on January 21st, Sunday after the holy mass Regina nurse’s ministry gifted bouquet and arranged cake cutting for Fr. Daris. We collected a money from the members for the upcoming nurse’s ministry programs. On January 19 we held a special formation class by Fr. Arun kalamattathil. Most of the team members participated.


Nurses ministry annual report 2023 ( Jan -Dec)

On the month of January, Regina nurses ministry held a special prayer for Henock Paul for his speedy recovery. Canada nurses ministry conducted chain rosary on the 13th of every month for special intentions. All regions participated from 6 am to 6 pm and members are taking half an hour time slots. On January 23rd and February 20th Canada nurses ministry conducted a training program for the members to teach how to do praise and worship.

On the month of April, Regina nurses ministry lead a zoom prayer meeting from the 2nd of April to the 10th of April. Fr. Oliver , from Regina preached the word of God for half an hour. During the Holy Week, Regina nurses ministry lead the “way of the cross” at 3 pm prayer from the 2nd of April to the 10th. On this month the nurses ministry held the harvest of mercy prayer. Regina region on April 10th took the time slots 1:30 am to 2:30 am. On June 13th, Canada nurses ministry conducted a leaders meeting at 8:30 pm, we discussed about bank account. Fr. Pathrose, completed his term and elected Fr. Daris Cherian as nurses ministry director.

Canada nurses ministry conducted a training session on July 3rd to July 22nd to explain about the duties and responsibilities. On July the nurses ministry conducted a meeting to give a farewell to Fr. Pathrose welcome Fr. Daris. on July 24 to July 31 Regina region conducted at 3 PM Divine Mercy prayer. On July 24 at 8:30 PM we conducted rosary and word of God given by fr. John Aikkara from Regina.

On August 31 to September 8 nurses ministry conducted “ harvest of grace” all over the world. For the feast of mother Mary eight day continues rosary was arranged on 15 September Regina region took the time slot 2-230am. All regions conducted chain rosary for manipur.

On October third, we conducted coordinators meeting with Bishop mar Jose kaliuvelil and our spiritual director Fr. Daris. The main agenda of this meeting is nurses ministry election for the new term.

On November 13 Regina nurses ministry held a zoom prayer meeting at 7:30 pm. Fr. Tomy Mandapathil gave the word of God. On November 14-20 Regina nurses ministry lead 3 PM rosary the main intention of the prayer is for a eparchial assembly,  retreat for the priest and Priestly ordination.

On December 14 to 15 Canada nurses ministry conducted a bible reading( new testament) for our region.  Regina region got 8-9 AM slot. On December 17 we held a in person meeting after holy mass. Most of the nurses attended the meeting, we elected the new numbers.

St. John Paul II Knights of Columbus Council #17190, January 2024

The K of C monthly Council meeting was held on Sunday, Jan 14th, following the Holy Mass. The meeting covered the following points:

-           Membership renewal drive: Follow up to be done in – Jan and Feb

-           Conducting garage sale - 17-Mar

-           Participation in State Convention that’s being held in Regina on 12th April

-           Participation in cultural activities for the State Convention

                        Margam Kali is planned for the event.

-           Organizing Parish feast in 17th, 18th and 19th May

-           Election of new officers, FS, Deputy GK and GK by June

HOLY MASS AT INFANT JESUS MISSION YORKTON.

New Year Holy Mass was celebrated on January 1st, 2024, Monday by Rev. Fr. Daris Cherian, This was an occasion for all the newcomers to come together and to have socialization after the Holy Mass. We decided to have our next Holy Mass on during Holy Week
