HOLY WEEK CELEBRATIONS

 

Kozhukkatta Sani was celebrated on March 23 rd Saturday at 5:30 PM with Holy Mass and blessings on the special food offerings. Parishioners brought homemade Kozhukkatta for blessing by the priest, and afterward, all shared in the feast.

Holy Palm Sunday :March 24th marked the celebration of Holy Palm Sunday, commencing at 5:30 PM with a solemn High Mass and Palm blessings. Following the blessing, a procession through the Church Hall engaged all attendees, making for a remarkable event with a large turnout. Socialization and coffee concluded the service by 9 PM.

On Maundy Thursday, March 28th, Parish priest Fr. Daris led the Holy Mass and the symbolic "Washing of the Feet" ceremony, echoing Jesus' act with the 12 Apostles. Additionally, in remembrance of the Last Supper, parishioners brought Pesaha Appam and Pal, which were blessed and shared by the priest with everyone present.

Good Friday celebrations were held from 10 am- 3 pm, during the ceremony we held all the readings and the Way of the Cross to commemorate the events leading up to the death of Jesus. Also, after the way of the cross, all people attending the service had to taste Kayppu Neer to honor the pain and suffering of Jesus. The service ended with a small meal of Kanji, payar and achar.

Holy Saturday

On Saturday, there was Holy mass. Along with the Mass we renewed our Baptismal Promise. We also blessed the Holy Water and Candles.

Easter Vigil Mass

The Midnight Mass commenced at 10 pm, marking the celebration of the Ascension of Jesus Christ. Attendees were offered blessings from Jesus during the service. Following the ceremony, we enjoyed a time of fellowship, concluding with food sale by mathruvedi

Mathruvedi Food Fest

The Food Fest was conducted on 30th March 2024 after the Easter Mass. Variety of food.

items were contributed by our members and the same were sold at our counter. The Food

Fest got a massive response, and we could raise an amount of $1610.0

Catechism Department updates.

First Holy Communion and Chrismation

“I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.” John 6:51

8 of our students attended the online Holy Communion preparation classes conducted by the Eparchy of Mississauga. Among these 8 children, 5 of them will be receiving their First Holy Communion and Chrismation on May 18th Saturday on the occasion of our Parish feast. His Excellency Mar.Jose Kalluvelil Bishop will be the celebrant of our Parish’s First Holy Communion and Chrismation ceremony.

Nurses Ministry Updates

On April 1 st Canada nurses ministry held “the harvest of divine mercy “continues chaplet of divine mercy  prayer from 8.30 pm -2.30 am.Regina nurses ministry took 1 hour slot from 12.30-1.30 am. Most of the members were participated.

                On April 3 rd Canada nurses ministry selected fr.Joyal Joseph as an associate Director .on April 8 th we held a weekly zoom prayer meeting  to address Fr. Joyal and welcome to nurses ministry family as an associate director. We discussed about the nurses ministry future plans. He made a group for40 days preparation for the Pentecost starts from April10-May 19.

                On May 13 th Canada nurse’s ministry held a divine mercy chaplet in all regions from 6 am -6 pm. On April 15th Canada nurses ministry conducted an orientation class day-7 with international team

                   Canada nurses ministry planning to do fasting prayer for the formation of great call on June 6 th 2024.15 th June is Regina nurses are doing great call, on April 22 nd  was the last orientation class with international team was presented.

Parish Feast 20204

     The Parish feast and First Holy Communion for children in 2024 will take place on May 17th, 18th, and 19th, with Bishop Mar Jose Kalluvelil serving as the main celebrant.
