Department meeting of catechism staff was conducted at the beginning of new Catechism academic year 2023 – 2024. We discussed about the matters that will be helpful for the smooth functioning of the catechism classes. In order to make the active participation of students in the Holy mass, each month have been allocated to each class, so they can do the Bible reading, prayers, songs and so on. The Catechism registrations have done through online and offline platforms.

The 2023 - 2024 classes were officially inaugurated on September 10th. The official inauguration day we celebrated as ‘Praveshanolsavam’. We initiated the new Catechetical year by lighting the lamp by our Vicar, Rev.Fr.Daris and representatives of students & Teachers. The teachers took the oath that was administered by Vicar Rev.Fr. Daris. It was a blessed beginning by the Grace of the God.




On August 31 st to September 8 th nurses ministry conducted Harvest Of Grace all over the world. 8 days continuous chain rosary for the feast of Mother Mary. Canada got their time slot on September 4th 2.30 pm to September 5 th 2.30 am. Regina region recited on 5th September 2-2.30 am. Most of the members were participated. Every Saturday nurse’s ministry conducting 8 hours divine mercy chaplet for Manipur.

On September 13th nurse’s ministry conducted chain rosary in all regions for the world peace.



A general body meeting was conducted 0n 27th August 2023, after the Holy Mass, Rev. Fr.Daris Cherian addressed the general body. He has appreciated the committee and members for their renowned activities and leadership and encouraged all members to come forward with their contributions and commitment towards the church as always.

The committee discussed on the upcoming Onam celebration at the church and decided to conduct activities, games, and potluck community dinner.

ONAM 2023

Onam celebration at St John Paul II parish was organized by Mathruvedhi, on 2nd of September. The celebrations started with the evening mass, followed by games and activities. The games were conducted for different age groups and families .The event was a great success by the active participation of parishioners and the support from Mathruvedhi members .We had the biggest port luck ever in the history of our Parish. Around 75 People prepared Onasadya for more than 200 people. The unique home made delicious Onasadya was very well enjoyed by everyone.

Jesus Youth Saskatchewan Onam Celebration @ Regina

On 16th September 2023, Jesus Youth Saskatchewan organized Onam celebration at Christ the King Church, Regina. The gathering was attended by a total of 75 members – youth, families and children, from across Saskatchewan. The event began with invoking the joyful presence of the Lord through action songs and ice breaker games. A short segment of cultural programs was presented by kids, teenagers, youth and couples to celebrate the festivity of Onam. This was followed by delicious potluck ‘Onam Sadhya’ which was enjoyed by everyone gathered. After lunch, everyone enjoyed few more action songs and then Fr. Daris addressed the gathering and encouraged Jesus Youth for the initiatives undertaken. Everyone was then divided into groups and a session was facilitated by Joby Jose & Ligi Joby through a video on ‘Samaritan Woman’s encounter with Jesus’. In the group sharing, everyone was encouraged to share their reflections on their favourite portion of the video and the session concluded with Joby sharing his testimony on encountering Jesus as a personal Saviour and companion and how Jesus Youth fellowship and lifestyle has strengthened him in various stages of life. The day concluded with Onam special ‘Tug of War’ and prize distribution, post which everyone danced their hearts out to songs celebrating Christ in each other!!


On September 8th we celebrated the feast of the assumption of the BLESSED VIRGIN MARY. Solemn Holy Mass celebrated on that day at 5:30 PM, followed by Novena to Mother Mary , Ladeenju, and Neercha . Good number of parishioners attended the service and it was a blessed occasion for all.


Paris picnic 2023 was held on September 9th Saturday at Kiwanis Park from 3 PM to 8 PM. We had a wonderful celebration with different kinds of games and fun. There were games for kids, adults’ youth, and couples. Sports competitions and tug of war were conducted. The picnic was concluded with prizes distribution for winners and BBQ dinner. All the participants enjoyed the picnic wonderfully.
